Online retailer Amazon is the latest organisation to crack down on the misuse of Kodi boxes.
It has banned “fully-loaded” Kodi boxes - used to illegally stream TV shows, films and Premier League football matches - from being sold on its website.
Users of the perfectly legal unmodified set-top devices can access online content, including official streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.
However, because it uses an open platform, the Kodi software allows users to install additional applications that give them to access copyrighted material – uploaded, shared or streamed from other users across the globe.
Many are selling "fully loaded" boxes, which come pre-packed with these additional apps, with people using it to illegally stream Premier League football matches.
Their popularity is causing concern for UK authorities. In February, five people were arrested for selling "fully loaded" Kodi boxes.
The raids were instigated by the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT), on behalf the Premier League, Sky, BT Sport and Virgin Media. ...
